Luck of the (almost) Irish

dress & underskirt: vintage | belt: thrifted | shoes: Forever 21

Well, I'm more than a couple days late...but here's what I wore for St. Patrick's Day! Unfortunately, when these photos were taken, I was in the midst of a 30-hour headache that had actually started the previous afternoon. So, no crazy parties for me - I couldn't even enjoy a celebratory beer because of the medicine. But I decided early on in the day that I wasn't going to let a headache ruin my mood...and I didn't! Chris and I took a nice long walk in the gorgeous weather and enjoyed fresh, homemade juice.

Since I couldn't do stereotypical St. Patrick's Day things, I made an effort to incorporate as much green into my day as I could. So I dug out this dress from my closet (it's so delicate, I'm afraid to wear it too often!), ate an avocado for breakfast, and, of course, took my outfit shots in front of the green door!

Next year, I'll have a lot more to celebrate on this holiday - my mom should have her Irish citizenship! Since her grandmother was born in Northern Ireland, she (and any descendants born after she gets the citizenship) will be eligible to be an Irish citizen. I must confess, I'm a little bit jealous that I can't get it for myself - but who knows, maybe there's a loophole I simply haven't discovered yet...

Did any of you do anything fun to celebrate St. Patrick's Day?

  2. That dress is so pretty! The color is spot on for spring. Plus it of course looks great with your hair.
I went home and visited my family for St Pattys Day. It was nice to just relax! I'm excited for tomorrow, I hope it's not rainy then though.

  3. It's a perfect dress for St. Patrick's day... I love the pale colour and those buttons! I think you might be out of luck on the loophole thing though... five generations is kind of a lot. Maybe someone European on your dad's side (since it's all the same with the EU now)?
